Tapirs (Tapirus bairdii) have the intriguing behavior of seeking water into which to defecate. As the ACG dry forest stream beds dry down, the tapirs continue to defecate there. Searching this dry stream bed, right in the middle - in what would have been the last puddle of drinking water - is the object of the exercise.
