We have focused on Liomys salvini as individuals to this point, but this mouse also does interesting things in the aggregate. This is an aerial view of the mosaic of old pasture and forest in the ACG dry forest. The two white squares are each a 210 m X 210 m plot where the density of Liomys salvini have been monitored by live trapping, marking, and releasing the mice since 1983. They are about a km apart and each is a sample out of continuous sheet of Liomys over the wooded areas, with occasional incursions into the old pasture.
