There are 10-16 (rarely up to 24) seeds in an Enterolobium fruit, and a mouse can carry comfortably three in each pouch, which means that it takes about two trips back to the tunnel to clean up one fallen Enterolobium fruit. As many as 5-10 Liomys mice might be working the large area below a single large Enterolobium tree in a given night, and one might make as many as 20-40 round trips in a night between the fruit crop and the burrow.
