These seeds of the tropical Old World grass, Rottboellia cochinchinensis (Poaceae), introduced to Costa Rica, that were harvested by the Liomys salvini mouse in image DHJanzen100537.jpg above. Each of the drum-shaped fruits contains one seed (there are four clean seeds in the photograph). The drum-shaped fruits are packed tightly together in the green infrutescence crossing the lower center of the photograph.
