While we know essentially nothing of the biology of the wild cows that once ranged over Europe (Bos taurus - today the milk cow and beef steer, and earlier the image above) and Southeast Asia (Box indicus - today the cebu and before that a gaur), we can easily surmise that they would have been part of the great miscellany of animals congregating on a bamboo seed crop, just as they eat grain today in our feed lots.
