This old pasture (30 years old) is now inside the ACG, as part of the large area of old ranches purchased in putting together the ACG. The forest that once was is signaled by the dead tree trunks and the few standing cadavers. But this may better be seen as 10 metric tons of carbon per hectare, basically as grass stems and roots. Now, if we turn and take a photograph about 1 km to the right of this photograph we see image DHJanzen100037.jpg below.
