This is two conifers growing on the wind-swept upper beach on an island (Seal Island) off the coast of Nova Scotia. One has died. If they were both alive, at a glance one would think of them as a single plant with one dense dome-shaped crown. Because one has recently died, the intersection and spatial geography of the two crowns is readily evident.
