Looking more closely at the individual fruits (in the infrutescence) of a (different) species of Asteraceae, the parachute-like nature of the fruit modified for wind dispersal is yet more evident. But imagine what can evolutionarily happen if the plant finds itself in a habitat where wind is scarce and furry animals common.
