Hummingbirds are strictly New World, there being none in the Old World. Then why is this native fabaceous tree standing leafless with a full crop of bright red flowers in Kenya? It is even in the genus Erythrina, famous for its red tubular hummingbird-pollinated flowers in the neotropics.
