Hummingbirds are, not surprisingly, very sensitive to the quality of the nectar in the flowers they visit. A quick way to stop a hummingbird from visiting a feeder or a flower is to put alcoholic beverages in it. Flying while drinking is not recommended, especially at the speed of a hummingbird.
