A hermit hummingbird sits its nestlings in a Costa Rican rainforest (bet she gets a back ache). The long curved bill matches perfectly the curve in the Heliconia flower in image DHJanzen101096.jpg above, and she is its sole pollinator. Remember the traplining phenomenon described earlier? She has a trapline that will contain numerous patches of Heliconia plants.
