In order to understand the size of a single acacia-ant colony, this 2-meter-tall ant-acacia (Acacia collinsii) will be completely dissected and collected in the photographs below. This tree happens to be growing in an open old pasture without complicating other plants nearby, or other ant-acacia shoots that could harbour other parts of the colony.
