This is such a photograph of tropical dry forest as in DHJanzen100098.jpg in coastal Pacific Mexico, but it is in the full dry season when nearly all plants have dropped their (deciduous) leaves (and will not leaf out until the seasonal rains begin many months later). However, almost in the lowest part of the valley up near the skyline is a single dark green tree crown. This is a single large adult Acacia hindsii ant-acacia in full leaf in the middle of the dry sesason. This is explained further in the next image (DHJanzen100100.jpg).
