However, when deer dung - here from a large healthy female in the ACG dry forest - is examined closely for seeds, in commonly contains no seeds or only extremely tiny seeds. Deer are very careful not to swallow large seeds. Yes, they eat large fruit and fruit fragments (such as pieces of Enterolobium pods), but later they regurgitate these and chew them very finely, so finely that the particles eventually pass into the subsequent gut chambers. Only the tiniest seeds make it through this process.
