This is a small pile of ACG dry forest coyote dung with large fragile Manilkara chicle seeds in it. M. chicle is the chewing gum tree, the very large tree whose white latex was the original source of chewing gum (a.k.a. chiclets). It is quite strange to see Manilkara sapling in the middle of very large pastures, many kilometers from forest containing large reproducing Manilkara trees. The tree drops golf-ball sized sweet fruits to the ground below, each containing 3-6 of the 1.5 cm long flat beige seeds above. Now you know how the sapling got there. The reddish fibrous material in the dung with the seeds is probably agouti fur.
