Canids - and especially coyotes and foxes - are heavily frugivorous. This may look like a dog, but in fact it is a Costa Rican coyote (note that its ears stand straight up, and if you could see its eyes, you would see them to be amber colored). It was caught as an adult and chained to a tree in the presence of gentle farm dogs, and within a couple of months had learned how to do very many dog-like things, including strongly wagging its tail in response to having its back rubbed. Such a carnivore chops up its food rather than finely chewing it as do many herbivores, which means that it can be quite gentle with large fragile or soft seeds, making it a better seed disperser for some trees than are large herivores.
