| At the bottom of this photograph is the tip of a large grass pasture. At the top center is another small pasture that appears as a yellowish grassy island among the forest, today called the Cliff Top Regeneration Plot (in central Sector Santa Rosa, central to the ACG dry forest). This grassy island ends abruptly on a clean curved line on the right side. That line is the entrance road (paved) to the ACG. Extending up and to the right from the road is a newly burned area that extends for many kilometers to the upper right. When the road was built, it became a strong fire break, augmented by burning its right side each year. This allowed the left side to be a closely monitored case of forest invasion of the pasture to the left of the road, the yellowish island in the top center. | ||
