| While the village field/gardening activity was formally restricted to the 40 acre field described in image DHJanzen100755.jpg above, a small amount of clandestine gardening did occur behind a few houses. This is one of four tomato plants carefully tended by my neighbor. I did not live there long enough to get a good feeling as to how far the village rules could be pushed, but I suspect that relatively small and inconspicuous transgressions were part of social flex - sort of like a rolling stop at a stop sign. | ||
