While the coral-snake mimic Rothschildia erycina caterpillars appear to be free of predation by birds and monkeys, it was quite striking to watch a ctenosaur lizard gobble up many of them in the crown of a food plant in the ACG. Perhaps ctenosaur lizards are immune to coral snake venom?

Rothschildia lebeau caterpillars, despite their mimicry of urticating Limacodidae are taken by some species of birds, such as this ant-shrike (actually, it has a different species of large green caterpillar in its bill, on the way to feeding nestlings, but this bird does prey on R. lebeau caterpillars).
