It does matter which species of big herbivore defecates the seed-rich dung. This is cow dung that has been baking in the hot sun of a pasture for the better part of a day, and is now hardening. But as is evident from the form of the pile, when it was newly defecated it was wet, sloppy and spread like mud. The cow mills its food very finely, chooses the most tender material to eat, and produces sloppy dung. When you stick your hand into it, the material sticks like glue to all surfaces and is hard to wash off. When it sets, it sets like cement. What is the fate of Enterolobium seeds in this matrix?
