The same view and the same biodegredation site as DHJanzen100055.jpg, 1.5 years later (21 December 1999). Now the degrading orange pulp/peel has been fully incorporated into the previously impoverished soil, the grasses are essentially replaced with broad-leafed herbs and some saplings, and the number of species of plants has moved from about 25 to about 100. Dotted through the site are saplings of trees from the adjacent forest.
