Once one is aware of the role of the coral snake color pattern, one realizes that it is both present in surprising places and says yet more about mammalian predators. This Rhinoclemys pulcherrima is, yes, as its name suggests, beautiful. But this small Costa Rican terrestrial turtle is more than that.
