That huge bird is in fact fly catching. Watching carefully with binoculars, it is clear that the stork is snatching these large Chrysomya flies (Calliphoridae) with its long bill. I suspect that indeed, the mixed content of a fly carcass is actually better food (especially if it is going to be later regurgitated to nestlings) than is the solid skin or meat or protein tissue of this carcass. Indeed, the decomposing carcasses left half eaten by the large predators are a rich camp of decomposing insects.
