This Galapagos tortoise stretches to more than a meter tall. Vegetarian, it is especially fond of the fleshy pads of opuntia cactus (the orginal seeds of which probably got to the island in the gut of a bird flying from the mainland - recall those large red fruits in the megafauna lecture).
