Out of the total of 235,000 estimated species of organisms in the ACG (about the same as in the continental US and Canada), 104,000 are arthropods (it is possible that there are many tens of thousands more species of viruses). Here, two female Euplectrus (Eulophidae) parasitoid wasps are ovipositing on a penultimate instar Manduca florestan (Sphingidae) caterpillar, not only being part of the huge biodiversity of the ACG but also being part of the millions of interactions.
