Here a sea-born spider makes landfall on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica (which could just as well have been the coast of a Pacific island). This log washed down the river opening to the left, out to sea, and then back in. Throughout that long(?) trip, probably due to its natural raft-like shape, it appears not to have rolled but rather floated upright like a canoe. A closer look is in image DHJanzen101221.jpg below.
