Viewed from the side and somewhat cleaned, the stoat skull in image DHJanzen101153.jpg above shows both the long canines of a carnivore (remember the bear, and see the wolf below), but in contrast to the bear has carnasial molars - shaped not unlike shark teeth and designed for slicing through meat and bone, rather than chewing/grinding. The carnasial molars shear off pieces of meat and bone and swallow them without much further processing.
