The large canines of a Costa Rican Artibeus fruit bat do a marvelous job of latching onto a large green Andira fruit (and many other kinds of fruits as well) in flight. The fruit is plucked from its exposed position on the outside of the tree crown. Note that even when ripe, it is bright leaf green (though quite odoriferous).
